About

About the project

Deepening the research–society relationship in the Western Balkans through digital technologies, multimedia and innovative communication.

Overview

Why DiBS?

In the 21st century, digital media are not only tools for information — they are powerful means for interaction, creativity and inclusion. DiBS uses multimedia storytelling, virtual platforms, podcasts and immersive digital formats as an open channel linking scientists, educators and citizens, notably those from linguistically diverse and rural areas.

The project transforms how researchers communicate with society and how young people discover science and research careers — by linking European Researchers' Night (ERN) and Researchers at Schools (RaS) activities into one unified digital ecosystem, built around the DiBS Connect platform and the Balkan Science Bridge video magazine.

Operating in four languages — English, Serbian, Albanian and Montenegrin — DiBS ensures that linguistic diversity becomes a driver of accessibility, not an obstacle, promoting the EU value of "United in Diversity".
